Our baby room serves the functionalities of having a milk station, cots for babies to sleep, and resources that support learning opportunities through play.

We understand that these things meet the basic needs of the age group that would be spending time in this room. It is, however, equally important to give the children in this age group every opportunity to have engaging talking and listening opportunities to provide them with the best learning chances to develop the 3 characteristics of effective learning as identified by the EYFS.

These are:

1. Playing and exploring-children investigate and experience things and ‘have a go’
2. Active learning- children concentrate and keep on trying if they encounter difficulties, and enjoy achievements
3. creating and thinking critically-children have and develop their own ideas, make links between ideas, and develop strategies for doing things.
